All blood cancer patients and survivors are invited to our Heroes of Hope Tent.
This tent is where all those registered as patients and survivors will check in for the ABC 7 Gibbons 5K Run and 3K Walk.
You can pick up your complimentary survivor T-shirts here.
After the race come back and join us for refreshments and an opportunity to meet with others who have been touched by a blood cancer.
A special banner will provide the perfect ABC7 Gibbons 5K Run and 3K Walk photo op!
Don’t forget to use our hashtag #gibbons5k when posting. #togetheritispossible.
Joining the registry is fast and easy!
It takes only 5-10 minutes to fill out paperwork and swab your cheek.
Only 1 in 430 registry members go on to donate!
If you match a patient in need, we will call you and ask you to donate. If you get a call, you are very special! Donation is always voluntary; however we are looking for committed donors who will step up to the plate if called!
Donating is not painful! Over 70% of donors donate their blood stem cells in a non-surgical procedure that is very similar to donating plasma.
Committed donors between the ages of 18-44 and in good general health can join the registry to help patients fighting blood cancer by completing a consent form and swab kit.
YOU can be someone’s CURE!
Here’s what you need to know about joining the registry:
- Registration is free, quick and easy. It takes 5-10 minutes, and you would be asked to provide contact information and swab the inside of your cheek – it does not hurt!
- Anyone ages 18 to 44 can join the registry for free.
- If you are found to be a match with someone, there would be no cost to you to donate.
