Why I am Running? Why I am Walking? Each year we have runners and walkers who join us in memory of a loved one or in celebration of survivor-ship. So many are touched by a blood cancer. Won’t you share why you are running/walking this year?
You can send your information to firstname.lastname@example.org.
TEAM HONEY PIES
“The Honey Pies” joined us last year to honor the memory of Mary, who lost her battle with leukemia exactly one year before. The team name comes from the pet name she and her husband of 36 years, Greg, had for one another. Walking and running to honor her memory were her family and friends. This team of nearly 40 members came from the Chicago land area and as far away as Wisconsin, Iowa and Louisiana! Pictured here are a few of “The Honey Pie’s ” team. Thanks for sharing “why you are running/walking” with us!
Leukemia is the #1 cause of death by disease in children, and, although commonly thought of as a childhood disease, is diagnosed ten times more often in adults.
The Leukemia Research Foundation (LRF) was founded in 1946 and is dedicated to
conquering all blood cancers by funding research into their causes and cures, and
enriching the quality of life of those touched by these diseases.
For more than 70 years, thousands of volunteers have helped the Foundation raise more than $62 million in support of this mission.
