Why I am Running/Walking……

Jen wilkens

Jen’s Cancer Fighters is joining us again this year.  Here is their story!

This team was created to show our support for a very special lady in all of our lives…. Jen.  She is not just a cancer patient but is a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend.  She is very active with her church, her son’s school, and with the library.  She previously has been involved in charitable works with organizations like the Arthritis Foundation.  She enjoys sewing, gardening, canning, hiking and spending time with family and friends. She is so loved!

Jen has been fighting Leukemia since 2011. She has been thru so many tests, different varieties of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, clinical trials and is now on her way to New York for another clinical trial of CAR-T cell gene therapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering.  She is not only searching for a cure for herself but is also actively participating in clinical trials to help find a cure for everyone fighting this ugly cancer!  Jen is one of the bravest people that I know and so are her husband and 13 year old son, Jeff and Jacob.  We love them so much and want to help in any way that we can!

Jen has participated in the Jim Gibbons 5k the past several years. Benefits go to the Leukemia Research Foundation. I know it is a cause that she finds very personal and very worthy.  Her family and friends have decided to run/walk this year for her and to help raise funds for the cure of blood cancers.  Please consider joining our team for this run/walk or by making a monetary donation.
